In this presentation, we provide an overview of our methods and innovations for estimating population mobility (flows) and distribution within a country using mobile operator data to support policy and decision-making.
Specifically, we present:
- Who we are and who we work with
- What Call Detail Records (CDRs) are
- How we process and analyse CDR data, with a particularly focus on how we adjust for representation biases and provide population-scaled estimates
- How we turn CDR data into trustworthy population mobility and distribution statistics, and how we apply those findings to inform a wide range of sectors, from official/experimental statistics to disaster management and public health.
