Flowminder, in collaboration with Digicel Haiti, has produced a set of preliminary analyses to understand how the disaster has affected population movements.

On 14 August 2021, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck south-western Haiti, causing loss of life and widespread damage in the peninsula, and affecting thousands of people.
To understand how the disaster has affected population movements, Flowminder, in collaboration with Digicel Haiti, has produced a set of preliminary analyses using de-identified and aggregated mobile operator data provided by Digicel Haiti. These data can help generate information on population density and mobility that can be used to determine where groups of people were, and where they moved following the earthquake.

Le 14 août 2021, un séisme de magnitude 7,2 a frappé la péninsule sud d'Haïti, causant des pertes humaines et des dégâts considérables et affectant des milliers de personnes.
Afin d'aider les acteurs humanitaires à cibler les populations affectées et organiser la réponse à cette catastrophe, Flowminder, en collaboration avec Digicel Haïti, a produit une série d'analyses préliminaires sur les mouvements de population causés par le séisme en utilisant les métadonnées de téléphonie mobile de Digicel Haïti. Ces données permettent de générer des informations sur la densité et la mobilité de population.
