UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) is exploring how to incorporate new types of data to ensure that "every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, every young person is free of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, and every girl and woman is treated with dignity and respect”¹. Linus Bengtsson, executive director of Flowminder, takes part in their Big Data Boot Camp. The event drew together senior staff from UNFPA and 20 big data experts, and as a result of the event, the UNFPA is "taking forward plans for several big data prototype projects with partners"².
