Meeting Bill Gates in Seattle for a discussion regarding geospatial and satellite datasets, Flowminder co-Director Andy Tatem strengthened the links between Flowminder and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Professor Andy Tatem, WorldPop Director and Flowminder co-Director was recently invited to present at a meeting with Bill Gates in Seattle. The meeting was a brainstorming session around the use of satellite and other geospatial datasets in helping meet the goals of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This was Andy's third meeting with Mr Gates, and he presented the work of WorldPop and Flowminder in providing contemporary and high resolution geospatial data on vulnerable population distributions, characteristics and dynamics.
