John joined Flowminder as Backend Engineer to maintain and improve FlowKit, Flowminder's open source toolkit for the secure analysis of mobile operator data. John's background is in satellite image processing and data science. He previously worked at the University of Leicester on the Forest2020 project, developing techniques to provide automatic monitoring of deforestation. John joined Flowminder to continue working in the official development assistance sector after the end of Forest2020.
