Following the extensive work conducted in Nepal in 2015, Flowminder has been shortlisted for the 2016 Global Mobile Awards. The nomination is in the 'Mobile in Emergency or Humanitarian Situations' category, while the ceremony will take place on 23rd February, 2016.

Disaster response is a key focus of Flowminder's work, and in 2015, the severe earthquake in Nepal led to Flowminder's most extensive analytical project to date. A number of breakthroughs, including the automation of time-intensive pre-processing and novel 'returns analysis' techniques, were made as Flowminder worked to provide international agencies and Nepal's government with up-to-date, scalable humanitarian information. This work is recognised by the GSMA through Flowminder's nomination for the Global Mobile Awards 2016, under the 'Mobile in Emergency or Humanitarian Situations' category.

Flowminder will be attending the Global Mobile Awards ceremony at the Mobile World Congress, on the 23 February, 2016.

"Congratulations to all of the nominees for the 2016 Glomo Awards,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “With more than 930 entries this year – a new record – the competition is greater than ever, reflecting the tremendous diversity and pace of innovation across the mobile world. We are particularly excited to be celebrating the 21st year of the awards with a dynamic new format that will recognise and honour achievement throughout Mobile World Congress.”
