
Aditi Maheshwari, MSc

Aditi Maheshwari is a climate executive with over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of climate policy, finance, and implementation. She currently serves as Managing Director for Climate Action Implementation at C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, where she leads programme design, delivery, and funder engagement for urban climate action initiatives spanning multiple regions and sectors.
Previously, she was Director for Climate Action in the UN Secretary General's Executive Office, leading stakeholder engagement to advance climate action across key sectors including energy transition, cities, transport, and nature-based solutions. She has also held senior roles at the International Finance Corporation's Climate Business Department, the World Bank, UK Department for International Development, and the National Treasury of South Africa.
Throughout her career, Aditi has focused on mobilising private capital for climate investments, shaping climate policy frameworks, and building public-private partnerships across public and private sectors. Her work has contributed to initiatives ranging from the Stern Review on Economics of Climate Change to the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness and various climate finance mechanisms.
She holds an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London and a BA in Economics from the University of Nottingham.
