Stefanie Wiegand, MSc
Stefanie is a software developer and open-source enthusiast with a history in applied research. She obtained her MSc in Applied Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrücken (Germany) and worked as a research engineer at the University of Southampton's IT Innovation Centre. As a post-doc at the University of Southampton researching consent-based synchronisation of healthcare records in low-and middle-income countries, she formed an interest in ethical use of geospatial data.
At Flowminder, Stefanie works to bridge the gap between software engineering and data analysis, developing bespoke tools for analysts and other professionals, such as survey practitioners, by understanding user needs. She loves working in a non-profit foundation that is packed with academically-minded colleagues but not bound by the restrictions of academic research, to help improve the lives of the most vulnerable people.
